Rami Cassis has this week written for Just Style about why supply chain serialisation can improve the prospects of the fashion industry.
He argues that the supply chain in its current state is pushing up costs unnecessarily, lacks visibility, and undermines fashion companies’ ability to be transparent about sustainability.
Implementing serialisation in the supply chain can solve these problems. Learning from his experience in the pharmaceutical industry and its use of serialisation, Cassis believes that the fashion industry can reduce waste, mitigate the impacts of political unrest and climate disasters, better identify counterfeits, and make the industry more accountable.
