Schwab Network: Rami Cassis on investor sentiment and tech sector outlook

Written by Parabellum Investments

Rami Cassis was interviewed by Schwab Network about the outlook for the U.S. economy, investor sentiment, and opportunities within the technology sector. Cassis shared his views on the challenges ahead and where he continues to see strong potential for investment.

Cassis noted that recent economic indicators, including the U.S. jobs report and the prospect of rate hikes, could weaken investor confidence and dampen consumer spending – both of which are central to the country’s economic resilience. He expressed concern that these factors may lead to a tougher second half of the year, with potential implications for IPO valuations.

Despite this caution, Cassis remains optimistic about opportunities in the lower mid-market tech space, particularly in fintech and pharma tech. He highlighted his ongoing interest in technologies such as pharmaceutical serialisation – a system that allows precise tracking of drug movement across the supply chain – as an example of the kind of innovation he sees as commercially and operationally valuable.

Cassis emphasised that while macroeconomic uncertainty may impact public markets, the fundamentals of well-positioned mid-market tech firms remain strong. He believes this segment is less exposed to volatility and continues to offer compelling value for long-term investors.
